Additive Manufacturing
Senior Aerospace SSP is the largest division inside of the Senior Aerospace family. The Facility is now home to the Senior Advanced Technology Center, a global resource for all 34 Senior PLC divisions on 6 continents across the globe to pursue innovative design and manufacturing strategies in the area of complex aerospace systems.
Senior Aerospace SSP has developed procedures and processes for designing, analyzing, qualifying, and integrating additive manufacturing products to current and future programs.
Bleed Leak Detection, Hybrid Shroud, and Coupling Cover
In order to combat issues with typical leak detection systems, Senior Aerospace SSP designed, manufactured, qualified, and patented a new Bleed Leak Detection System.
The design allows for a bleed air leak to be contained so that the hot air is not introduced to the rest of the environment system. The design contains the leakage of the bleed air between the duct and the hybrid shroud so that it is not released to other systems in the aircraft. The containment guides the leak to the nearby manifold. This manifold contains detection wires to detect the leak and identify the location of the leak in the system.
